Embedding and nurturing child and adolescent wellbeing is essential as our next generation are facing an ever increasing range of pressures associated with modern life. Early childhood and adolescence is a critical time of vulnerability for developing mental health issues, such as anxiety, low self-esteem, eating disorders, and self-harm. Factors such as family and friendships, learnt behaviours, changing bodies, moods swings, fear of the unknown and stress can become over whelming, confusing and debilitating, andat worst fatal. However, with appropriate holistic wellbeing intervention young people can develop a healthier, resilient mindset, allowing them to thrive and build a stronger sense of self, better equipped to handle life. That's where we come in, we're passionate about giving young people the very best mental health toolbox to support them now and prepare them for their future. We do this through two means; working with schools and organisations, as well as our own services directly in the community.
We believe in working with educational establishments to build and embed postive mental health solutions throughout the school environment and curriculum, enhancing the culture and wellbeing of staff, students and parents alike. Our extensive range of services includes consultation, wellbeing initiatives, training, pop-up stands, group work and one to ones. Having worked in schools, we saw the value of working with children and their families outside of school throughout the whole year. Our extensive work in delivering community mental health and wellbeing initiatives puts at a greater advantage when engaging families and linking up with external services to ensure families get the help and support they need.
Offering Kids and Youth Clubs, plus school holiday programmes can be a great way to subtly introduce positive mental health and wellbeing solutions through play, exploration and lots of fun. Whereas, our Junior Motivator programme, which runs inside of our Well Youth programme or through our HAPPY Hub offers young adolescents the chance to gain valuable life skills and formal qualifications through volunteering and social action.
"My daughter went to Well Youth Club for the first time last week and really enjoyed it. It was such a relief as she is extremely shy, she finds social/group situations extremely hard. After speaking with Carla she assured me that the group would be just the place for my daughter and I agree. She went again last night and came home happy and relaxed. Thank you Carla , the children are very lucky to have this facility".
